Novel Assay System to Accelerate Cell Line Development
Cy-Clone Plus assay system
IntelliCyt, a Sartorius Company, has launched the Cy-Clone™ Plus assay system for ranking and selection of clones for cell line development using the iQue™ Screener PLUS platform. A key factor in reducing the production costs of biopharmaceuticals is the development of cell lines producing a high yield of product. The Cy-Clone PLUS selection strategy is designed to identify clones that are highly productive and have optimal growth characteristics.
IntelliCyt’s iQue Screener PLUS platform is an integrated instrument, software, and reagent system that offers rapid, multiplexed analysis of cell and bead-based samples in 96 and 384-well plates. The iQue Screener’s proprietary sampling technology uniquely enables efficient assessment of cells in suspension, and miniaturizes the assay format, which conserves precious samples for further analysis. Profiling phenotypic and functional endpoints of cells, while simultaneously analyzing secreted proteins through the use of bead-based assays, generates rich information from the fewest numbers of cells. Plates are processed quickly, and software-assisted automation, analysis, and experiment-level visualization tools instantly rank and reveal the best clones for further analysis.

Next-Generation RNA Reprogramming and Stem Cell Services

Human Genome-Wide Gene Expression Profiling Kit for 19,000 Human Genes
Cellecta, Inc. has launched the Driver-Map™ Human Genome-Wide Gene Expression Profiling kit, a targeted RNA expression profiling assay designed to easily provide a molecular snapshot of all known 19,000 human protein-coding genes from complex samples, starting from as little as 10 pg of total RNA.

The multiplex RT-PCR-based, followed by next-generation sequencing (NGS), method used in the kit allows access to specially designed and experimentally validated gene-specific primer pairs.

The Driver-Map Expression Profiling assay is highly reproducible. Noteworthy features of this assay include: selective amplification of 19,000 annotated human transcripts using RT-PCR directly from total RNA; an optimal genome-wide primer set that reliably and specifically measures mRNAs without background from other RNAs; and built-in, internal ERCC control RNAs to compensate for batch effects and other technical variations.
The kit includes a complete set of gene-specific and PCR-NGS primers, buffers, spike-in ERCC, and positive control RNAs, as well as all other reagents required to profile 24 samples and prepare them for digital expression profiling using NGS on an Illumina sequencing platform. NGS reagents are not included in the kit.
