Techno-Blast Masthead
Pluripotent cells have the unique ability to both self-renew and differentiate into all three germ layers, representing every cell in the human body. Embryoid bodies, generated from MyCell® iPSCs, were allowed to spontaneously differentiate for 21 days and were stained for smooth muscle actin (red), Tuj1 (yellow) and alpha feto-protein (green) demonstrate the presence of all 3 germ layers and confirming the starting population’s pluripotency.

Simplifying Process Monitoring
Liquiline CM44P
Endress+Hauser introduces the Liquiline CM44P multichannel analyzer transmitter that accepts up to 16 parameters from analytical sensors and transmits them via 4-20mA HART, Profibus, Modbus, or EtherNet/IP. The CM44P accepts inputs from up to two process photometers and four analytical sensors simultaneously. Sensor types include pH, ORP, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, turbidity, free chlorine, and ion selective sensors. Mathematical functions can be used to calculate up to six “virtual” process values.
The CM44P also performs diagnostics on all connected sensors and analyzers, and transmits error messages. An optional web server allows operators to remotely access the transmitter. Using any web browser, measurement values or diagnostic messages can be viewed or the device configuration can be changed. The CM44P interfaces to all Memosens sensors from Endress+Hauser and other vendors.

With the CM44P, all of the quality and process information needed can be obtained from a single transmitter, leading to reduced installation time, lower equipment costs, no need to acquire and manipulate data from multiple instruments, and simplified maintenance. For more information, please visit
Strategic Collaboration on an Innovative Integrated Cell Line Development Platform
IBI-Lorenzini has entered into a partnership with the Swiss contract development and manufacturing organisation, Celonic, to establish high performance cell lines for research and development.
Cell line development is one of the most challenging phases, especially when subsequent GMP compliance is required. To boost and support successful commercial introduction of biological drugs to the market, Celonic has developed CHOvolution™, a cell line kit that can be used for a broad range of applications, ranging from non-GMP R&D testing to GMP development and commercial market supply – with a technical and scientific support system to help with every step. The proprietary, royalty-free host/vector system is a completely serum free, very robust, and scaleable system proven to produce more than 7 g/L of antibodies.
