New Process Chemistry Technology Allows Automated Lab Reactor Control
METTLER TOLEDO's RX-10 Automated Lab Reactor Control is now available for jacketed lab reactors with third party heating and cooling systems, liquid addition, stirrers, and Process Analytical Technology (PAT) tools. RX-10 automatically collects data from all laboratory reactor equipment and sensors, together with in situ PAT instruments, including pH, particle size analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, and chemical reaction sampling.

Experimental sequences and safety limits can be pre-programmed for experiments to run safely unattended overnight. The local touchscreen or PC software offers remote reactor control allowing configuration of all experiment parameters without opening the hood. Operating with a touchscreen walk-up interface also allows consistent control of reactors on any scale from milliliters to multi-liters – reducing human errors and training costs.

Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics, Inc. announces the ExoComplete™ 96-Well Plate Kit and ExoComplete™ Tube Kit for an integrated, fast, and easy system for exosome collection to mRNA purification. Both products are intended for research use only in molecular biology applications.

The ExoComplete™ system isolates exosomal mRNA from biological samples such as plasma in a 96-well filter plate format, or large-volume samples in a single collection tube format. Exosomes and microvesicles (EMVs) in body fluids are captured with Hitachi Chemical's Exosome Isolation Plate or Exosome Collection Tube with a proprietary filter material. The highly porous material allows fast filtration of biological samples without clogging, and reproducible isolation of EMVs without the use of conventional ultracentrifugation. After lysing the captured EMVs, mRNA can be isolated through hybridization with single-strand oligo (dT) immobilized in the wells of the 96-well mRNA Capture Plate. A wide variety of downstream applications become available following isolation of mRNA, including mRNA quantification, single and double-stranded cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, real-time quantitative RT-PCR (qPCR), and next-generation RNA sequencing.
