2nd Generation Cytation Imaging Reader
BioTek has introduced the new Cytation™ 5 Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Reader. This second generation imaging reader includes added functionality to both the automated digital microscopy and conventional multi-mode microplate detection modes, enhancing phenotypic cellular information and well-based quantitative data.

Cytation 5’s microscopy module provides cellular visualization up to 60x magnification in fluorescence, brightfield, H&E, and phase contrast modes. Equipped with BioTek’s patented Hybrid Technology™, the multi-mode module includes variable bandwidth quad monochromators, high sensitivity filter-based detection, and laser-based Alpha detection for unmatched versatility and performance. Sartorius Stedim Biotech’s stainless steel fermenter/bioreactor the BIOSTAT® Cplus is designed for the cultivation of microorganisms and cell cultures. Typical applications include process development for the production of biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, biofuels, and secondary metabolites; optimization of batch, fed-batch, continuous, and perfusion processes; as well as scale-up and scale-down experiments.

The Sterilizable-In-Place (SIP) system is equipped with a DCU controller and added functions like gravimetric feed control, advanced DO control, and integrated off-gas measurement. The DCU controller's touch screen operation is easy and intuitive, reducing the risk of faulty operation while shortening the learning curve during training. Culture vessels are supplied with operating volumes of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30 liters and can be sterilized with electro or steam heating.

The BIOSTAT Cplus allows for individual system configuration in order to meet users' application-specific requirements. Additional functions like automatic pressure control or integrated off-gas measurement, as well as resterilizable addition valves and sterile sampling kits are available.
