ACEA Biosciences, Inc. has introduced the xCELLigence® RTCA CardioECR System, the first platform to combine impedance and multi-electrode array (MEA) technology with a pacing function. The system is designed to be placed in a standard tissue culture incubator with physiological temperature, CO2 level, and humidity, allowing for better-controlled assays with both short and long-term measurements in real-time.

The platform’s combined dual readout system provides cardiomyocyte viability measurements of lengthier durations, offering the potential for identifying those compounds responsible for longer-term structural damage to cardiomyocytes.
