Cell Counting Made Easy
Perfect for large to small scale applications, the Vi-CELL XR Cell Viability Analyzer automates the widely accepted trypan blue dye exclusion method for cell viability that has historically been performed manually with a light microscope, pipette, and a hemacytometer.

Thanks to cutting-edge liquid handling technology, the entire system — from sample aspiration to reagent handling to instrument cleaning — is fully controlled by an advanced, yet easy-to-use software interface designed for maximum flexibility.
To support a cGMP environment Beckman Coulter offers an Instrument Operational Qualification Program. This program is designed to reduce your time and effort spent on complying with equipment guidelines in GMP.

Modified Mycoplasma Detection Kits
Life Technologies Applied Biosystems® is implementing minor modifications to their MycoSEQ™ Mycoplasma Detection Kits. By transitioning contract manufacturing of the AmpliTaq Gold® DNA polymerase enzyme (used in the kits) to direct in-house manufacturing, Life Technologies has improved control over raw materials supplies and can produce the highest quality components to meet the supply demands of customers.

Although the source of raw materials has changed, no modifications have been made to the MycoSEQ product formulation. Rigorous internal comparability studies have been performed, and the in-house-produced AmpliTaq Gold enzyme was found to be functionally equivalent to the previously outsourced material.

Special Note: Michael Brewer, Director and Head of Pharmaceutical Analytics with Life Technologies, will be presenting information about MycoSEQ at the ISBioTech 2nd Fall Meeting, October 27-29, 2014 in Rosslyn, Virginia USA.
Advanced Raman Spectrometer with Smaller Footprint
JASCO has released the new, compact, and easy-to-use NRS-4100 Series Laser Raman Spectrometer. It measures just 24” tall x 22” wide x 24” deep and weighs only 120 lbs. The NRS-4100 has many of the same features and performance of its larger siblings with greater performance and a whole host of new technological innovations.

The use of a versatile three-laser system at 457, 532,
and 785 nm and a spectrograph resolution down to
0.7 cm-1/pixel makes the NRS-4100 ideal for many of the everyday applications in research and development, forensics, and quality control.

Techno-Blast Masthead
HeLa cells were transduced with CellLight® Nucleus-GFP (nucleus, green) and grown overnight.
Following fixation, the cystoskeleton was stained using ActinRed™ 555 ReadyProbes® reagent (actin, red). Nuclei were counter-stained, permeabilized, and blocked using the Image-iT Fixation/Permeabilization Kit, with NucBlue® Fixed cell stain, and images were acquired on the EVOS® FL Auto imaging system using a 60X coverslip-corrected objective.
