FTIR Spectrophotometer Provides Speed, Sensitivity, and Resolution
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc. has introduced the IRTracer-100 Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrophotometer. The instrument offers 60,000:1 S/N ratio sensitivity and 0.25 cm-1 resolution. The IRTracer-100 can be used for detection of ultra-small contaminants in pharmaceutical samples and inspection of incoming and pre-shipment materials. The IRTracer-100’s stable, airtight interferometer incorporates a built-in automatic dehumidifier, protecting the unit against moisture and other environmental influences. The instrument contains self-diagnostic and monitoring software as well as an instrument validation program that complies with US, European, Japanese, and Chinese pharmacopeia specifications. The instrument software also includes a library of nearly 12,000 spectra as well as a high-performance search function for easier identification of unknown contaminants.
