Unique Personal Lab Sterilizer Sets A New Benchmark
AMSBIO announces CoolCLAVE™ — a compact, easy-to-use personal lab sterilizer. CoolCLAVE uses ozone gas to effectively sterilize and deodorize laboratory tools, including lightly contaminated pipettes, pipette tips, gloves, plates, small instruments, and even personal items such as keys and glasses.

To sterilize items, simply place them inside the CoolCLAVE sterilizer and press START. The anti-microbial properties of ozone provide a powerful sanitizing effect capable of killing over 98% of most pathogenic organisms (bacteria, fungus, virus, etc.) in just 8 minutes. Its sterilizing action is able to thoroughly penetrate into cavities or crevices that are unreachable by other methods.
CoolCLAVE is very safe, efficient, and inexpensive to run. It operates without using any harsh chemicals, harmful UV rays, or heat, and does not damage any surfaces or leave any chemical residues behind. Best of all, the CoolCLAVE is highly reliable, requiring minimal maintenance.

Stringent Paperless Process Documentation for Media Preparation Labs
INTEGRA’s MEDIACLAVE 10/30 media preparation systems have been upgraded to provide all of the tools necessary to support the most stringent regulatory requirements for process documentation and validation.

New generation MEDIACLAVE 10/30 systems now provide the feature of digitally signed log files as a safeguard against tampering with downloaded files. The signed log files fully comply with FDA (21 CFR Part 11) and EU (GMP Annex 11) protocols requiring electronic process files to be verified with a digital signature.
A newly integrated USB port on MEDIACLAVE 10/30 systems allows the automated transfer of all run data log files to a flash drive. Furthermore, MEDIACLAVE 10/30 systems are equipped with Ethernet connection, allowing connection to a PC, LAN, or easy integration with LIMS. Consequently, run log files can be easily transferred and archived to any personal computer or data storage device.

Berthold Launches TriStar2 Microplate Reader
Berthold Technologies presents the 2nd generation of its multi-label TriStar2 microplate reader. TriStar2 employs the new optical concept ALL-4-ONE, for the first time enabling luminescence, fluorescence, and absorbance measurements with highest respective sensitivity. TriStar2 is also capable of reading FRET, BRET, and BRET2.
The instrument is characterized by its universal detector with extremely low noise for fluorescence and luminescence measurements, plus it is equipped with a photo diode for absorbance readings. TriStar2 is operated using ICE software and can be fitted with up to 3 reagent injectors — based on the proven and most accurate JET technology — plus temperature control for the microplate compartment. For increased sample throughput, TriStar2 can be integrated into lab automation systems.

Measurements of enzyme activities, phagocytosis, calcium flux, cell viability, apoptosis, immunoassays, protein and DNA concentrations, and protein-protein interactions are among the many uses of TriStar2. For more information, please visit
