Cedex Bio Bioprocess Analyzer for Reliable Metabolite Profiling
and Substrate Analysis in Biotherapeutics Manufacturing
Roche’s new Cedex Bio Bioprocess Analyzer is a continuous random-access analyser, enabling safe and reliable determination of chemical and biochemical parameters in aqueous solutions. The compact desktop system is designed to fulfill essential needs for metabolite screening and substrate analysis of bioprocesses. Capabilities include photometric and electrolyte testing, and measurement of up to 14 parameters simultaneously (out of 28 programmable tests) per sample.
The Cedex Bio Bioprocess Analyzer is easy to operate, and enables continuous loading and unloading of diverse cup types as well as on-board dilution of highly concentrated samples. New parameters can be implemented by plug and play.

Assays for the determination of Glucose, Lactate, LDH, Ammonia, Na+, K+, Glutamine, and Glutamate with the instrument are available. For more information, please visit www.roche-applied-science.com.

Tecan Brings HP Direct Digital Titration to Drug Discovery Biologists

Tecan’s new HP D300 Digital Dispenser is a simple, innovative device that can cut titration times from hours or days to just minutes through rapid delivery of picoliter to microliter volumes of pharmaceutical drug compounds. The HP D300 provides reliable performance across a broad, dynamic range and eliminates the need for serial dilutions. Using disposable dispense heads to avoid cross-contamination, it offers non-contact digital dispensing from 13 pl to 5 μl. It can also deliver any size dose to any well and virtually eliminates waste of valuable compounds.

The HP D300 is available for delivery in Europe and North America. While this standalone instrument is based on Hewlett Packard’s inkjet technology, it is offered exclusively by Tecan. For more information, please visit www.tecan.com/digitaltitration.

The Horizontal Amersham ECL Gel System for Protein Electrophoresis

GE Healthcare’s horizontal Amersham ECL Gel System enables efficient, high-quality, and reproducible protein separation during electrophoresis. Offering high sensitivity and resolution of complex samples, it works with standard protein detection protocols and is easy to integrate into the Amersham ECL Western blotting workflow.

Gels are processed using the Amersham ECL Gel Box, a dedicated electrophoresis unit with horizontal design that requires virtually no assembly. The core of the system is Amersham ECL Gel, a precast 1.4 mm thick gel which contains no SDS and is available in a variety of concentrations and well configurations. The ECL Gel is uncompromised in performance throughout its shelf life of up to 12 months.
