Effective Surface Sterilization of Freeze Drying Equipment
SP Scientific has partnered with Bioquell to produce an off-the-shelf surface sterilization/decontamination system for SP freeze dryers.

Traditionally, freeze dryers have used steam for sterilization, which exposes them to many different stresses and strains. SP Scientific, in conjunction with Bioquell, has developed an equally effective and less expensive solution to perform surface sterilization/decontamination of freeze dryers using hydrogen peroxide vapor (HPV).

HPV is well established as a bio-decontamination agent. Bioquell’s HPV technology has been tested and proven effective against many organisms including bacteria, bacterial endospores, viruses, bacteriophage, fungi, nematodes, and protozoa.

Surface sterilization/decontamination using the HPV system is remarkably quick, enabling fast turnaround of your freeze dryer. The HPV system is easy to use and simply integrated with your SP Scientific freeze dryer without the need for excessive external piping or critical utilities that are commonly required to support steam sterilizers. Operating with automated gasing cycles ensures excellent process repeatability and consistency.

Peptide Sequence Database to Investigate T Cell Immune System
ProImmune has introduced a new antigen database service called ProSentium™, based on in vitro assay results using sequencing mass spectrometry. ProSentium data can show the precise peptide sequences from proteins of interest visible to the body’s own T cell immune system. The data collection covers many high value therapeutic targets and areas including the majority of licensed replacement factor proteins, including clotting factors and replacement enzymes.

Under an exclusive or non-exclusive license, the bespoke database service investigates and reports peptide hits against the ProSentium database for a customer’s specific protein or protein family of interest. Results are reported as overlapping nested peptide sets and provide statistically relevant antigen sequence data.
ProSentium data can be readily analyzed and reported, and is fully compatible with ProImmune’s in vitro assay services which can be combined to help investigators gain a more complete understanding of relevant immune responses at a molecular level.

HeLa cell spheroids were generated in a Nuclon™ Sphera round-bottom 96-well plates, transferred to 35 mm glass-bottom dishes from Nunc™ and imaged by confocal microscopy. Oxidative stress was measured by using CellROX® Deep Red stain from Molecular Probes® with nuclear counterstaining with NucBlue® Live Cell stain. No enhanced oxidative stress were observed in this control sample.
