INTEGRA has released a new video demonstrating a solid phase extraction (SPE) microplate method for reproducible, high throughput isolation of high-quality DNA-free total RNA.
The video shows researchers using a VIAFLO 384 handheld electronic pipette in conjunction with a vacuum manifold, 96-well solid phase extraction (SPE) microplate and RNA isolation kit to reproducibly extract high quality total RNA from cultured cells and bacteria.
The VIAFLO 384 is a handheld 384-channel electronic pipette that offers all the benefits of increased sample throughput as well as lower sample and reagent use without the investment in a robotic liquid handling system. Designed to be used just like a standard handheld pipette, the VIAFLO 384 requires no special skills or training to operate. With Micronic Traxcer code reader software now fully integrated with Track-IT, users can directly trigger tube or rack barcode scanning from the Track-IT program. The new version scans in only 5 seconds and transfers the codes directly into the Track-IT database. Using this unique capability, sample storage process is markedly sped up compared to programs in which users need to upload spreadsheets with scanned tube or rack codes.
Track-IT allows the user to import data from existing files into a common presentation, perform cross database searches, quickly retrieve information, and produce reports. Using Intranet support, data can be accessed from any connected computer in the lab. A single Track-IT licence covers all users within an organisation.
New Bead Based DNA Target Enrichment Reagent Kit for Next Generation Sequencing
Roche announced the global launch of its SeqCap EZ Pure Capture Bead Kit supporting target enrichment workflows prior to DNA sequencing. The new kit is designed to provide sensitive and robust methods for capture and purification of DNA sample libraries enabling high-quality targeted sequencing results. With the addition of the new kit to its capture portfolio, Roche now offers SeqCap EZ Library probe pools and all target enrichment reagents in a one stop shop.
Roche provides a comprehensive set of reagents and probe pools for superior target enrichment performance. The probe pools include exome libraries, gene panels, and custom designs. Roche also launched a suite of SeqCap EZ reagent kits in January this year for applications in single or multiplex target enrichment experiments.
