CYTOO’s 2D+ Cell Culture Platform Enables Quantitative Mapping of
Trafficking Compartments and Standardized Mitochondrial Analysis
CYTOO S.A.'s 2D+ Cell Culture Platform enables two new high content analysis (HCA) approaches: (i) quantitative density mapping of trafficking compartments and (ii) standardized mitochondrial analysis.

The CYTOO 2D+ Cell Culture Platform, which was launched in July 2012, is based on the use of adhesive micropatterns in microplate wells to guide the cell architecture and behavior in culture. By defining the 2D topology of cell adhesion, the 2D+ Technology enables the fine control of the spreading and 3D shape of cultured cells in single- or multi-cellular configurations resulting in control of cell contractility, cell polarity, organelle positioning, or cell division axis. This opens new perspectives for more physiologically relevant cell-based assays compared to classical 2D culture where cells spread and move in an uncontrolled manner.

Graver Introduces Sterilizing Grade ZTEC Membrane
Graver Technologies, LLC announces the release of the ZTEC P Sterilizing Grade filter cartridges, specifically intended for use in critical applications including the final filtration of therapeutics, vaccines, serums and cell culture media, and diagnostic reagents.

The new ZTEC P Sterilizing Grade filters utilize a double layer of PES membrane that has been specifically tested against the target organism Brevundimonas diminuta and validated through multiple lot testing to meet the requirements specified in ASTM 838-05 for sterile effluent. Each filter is 100% integrity tested, serialized, and comes with a certificate of conformance in the package. A validation guide is available upon request.

Bosch Introduces Newly Developed Capping Machine with Integrated Quality Test
Bosch Packaging Technology has developed a new sealing solution for injection and infusion vials: the compact VRT 1010|1020. The machine is equipped with highly sensitive control systems, ensures reliable capping and achieves an output of 120 containers per minute.

Depending on the version, the intermittent VRT 1010|1020 takes over the filled and plugged injection and infusion vials from an upstream filling machine or a rotary table via single or double lane. Before capping, a camera-based sensor performs the stopper presence check. The sealing machine is also equipped with a camera for best capping quality. A modern touch-screen allows for easy handling and enables the storage and full reproducibility of format specific settings.
Further control systems can be added to the VRT 1010|1020, which can also be combined with barrier and containment systems. The machine meets the current EU GMP requirements according to Annex 1.
