The
International Society for BioProcess Technology was established in 2010 to advance process and analytical techniques, plus make the latest bioprocess technology readily available to those developing and producing biopharmaceuticals worldwide.

The society is dedicated to the scientists and engineers who have day-to-day responsibility for creating and managing scalable and reproducible processes, as well as the assays needed to insure indisputable quality. Through networking events and the society’s web-based resources, biotech professionals can access and share the techniques and best practices needed for safe, effective, and consistent products.
Membership:
While membership is not required to attend society meetings or access the website, we encourage all dedicated professionals to take advantage of the benefits available to members. The annual membership fee includes complimentary print and online subscriptions to the
BioProcessing Journal - a quarterly, peer reviewed publication established in 2002 and considered one of the industry’s most respected. In addition, members receive a 20% discount off the registration fees for annual and regional meetings.

Members are automatically qualified to serve on technology and application committees, run for society office, vote in society elections, and receive preferential status when submitting manuscripts for publication in the
BioProcessing Journal.
And of course, members have access to the extensive resources offered by our website,
Twitter feed,
Facebook page, and
LinkedIn group. Via our
Techno-Blast mass emails, members will receive notification of
networking events, training courses, certification opportunities, and jobs. In addition, members will be kept up to date on the latest developments in reference materials and standards.
Local Chapters:
Members are encouraged to organize
local society chapters, or what we refer to as “local area networks” (BioLANs). We've had strong interest from members who would like to develop chapters in the
Washington metro area, the
San Francisco Bay area,
Boston,
Utah,
Missouri,
Florida,
Singapore, and
Bangalore, India. ISBioTech is committed to setting up additional BioLANs wherever there are sufficient bioprocessing communities and the necessary leadership. So please
let us know if you are interested in helping to establish a BioLAN in your area.
Technology and Application Committees:
Wherever there is sufficient interest and commitment, ISBioTech is forming committees to help standardize and advance essential bioprocess operations and techniques. Examples include
cell banking, protein expression, scale-up, mixing, filtration, purification, and product characterization. Plus there will likely be groups focusing on
sensors, process control, single-use systems, analytical methods, and raw materials.
Then for applications, the society plans to form committees for
cellular vaccines, viral gene vectors, tissue regeneration, baculovirus expression, antibodies, recombinant proteins, vaccines, and biomarkers. Please let us know if you’d like to help build or chair a committee, and please check the website regularly for the latest opportunities to do so.
